The long disclaimers that inhabit the bottom of so many business e-mails are counter-productive, especially in light of simple alternatives readily available. So says the Legal Affairs Committee of the Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA), whose e-Mail Disclaimers: A Better Way, the first of GBA’s GBA Best Practices monographs, provides the better way along with the sample wording members can use as a model for their own, reducing several long-winded “legalese” sentences to one brief one written in language everyone can understand.
